All GTIs with the VW Climatronic system have a hidden Diagnostic Function.
This function will allow you to access a hidden menu that shows dynamic information ranging from true speed to RPMs.
To access this menu, push buttons "A", "B" and "D" simultaneously, as illustrated in pic below.
On the Climatronic LCD, the two digits to the left of "ECON" shows the current channel that you are viewing.
Buttons "B" and "C" allow you to scroll through channels 1 to 50.
The reading on the right of the screen is the measurement associated with that channel.
The channels that we are aware of are the following :
1 Interior Temperature
3 Sunlight Intensity Reading
9 Interior Fan Speed Setting
10 Measured Interior Fan Speed
12 Dashboard Ventilation Valve Adjustment
13 Recirculation Valve Adjustment
16 True Speed
48 Engine RPM (49 on some models)
